Alternative evaluation:
When choosing a source of drinking water, three things seem to be most important to customers.
1. The price: Many people may choose to drink from their tap water rather than water bottles because it can be cheaper this way.
2. The taste: Some people find that their tap water has a funny taste. They may opt to drink strictly water bottles if this is the case, or some sort of filtered water.
3. The accessibility: Water from the tap is usually the most easily accessible for people in their homes. Although buying water bottles from a local store doesn't take much effort, it is still more effort than getting water from the tap because you still have to go to the store and buy it.
How/where do they buy?
When buying water bottles or a water filter system such as a Brita, consumers will most likely go to an actual store and purchase them rather than purchasing online. When drinking from the tap, you don't need to go anywhere or buy anything.
Post purchase evaluation:
When it comes to drinking water, most people don't do much evaluating on their purchase afterward. Drinking water is a necessity and people don't really think twice about it. If the water was to have a really bad taste for some reason or make them feel sick, they would then think twice about it. They would also think twice if they know drinking water in the area is not at safety standards.
Conclusion:
This segment doesn't spend too much time evaluating their decisions when it comes to drinking water. They simply want to be provided safe drinking water that if affordable, tastes right, and is easy to access. My business idea of creating water kiosks would satisfy all three of these things.
Hi Julia overall this was a fantastic blog post. It's interesting that price was one of the most important aspects that each of your interviewee's were concerned about because it was for my interview group as well. I think price is probably one of the leading aspects when it comes to selling and buying products. I also liked your comment that listening to buyers is key, you are 100 percent right.
