Story description: Gainesville hosted a rally to help spread awareness about the issues of gun violence in school. This rally was motivated by the Parkland high school shooting that occurred in February of this year. Students from the high school came to this event to speak on the issue.
The problem: School shootings such as the one that occurred in Parkland have taken too many innocent lives, and seem to be becoming more and more common. Gun regulations and laws are not strict enough, and therefore people are getting access to guns when they shouldn't be. They need to be made stricter to prevent these tragic events from occurring.
Who has the problem: Any one has the potential of being exposed to or affected by this issue. School shootings in particular put students and faculty at high risk.
2. Plenty of rain, plenty of mosquitoes, and more related illness

Story description: Mosquito-borne viruses have been spreading throughout Florida as a result of heavy rainfall. Those partaking in outdoor activities have been urged to protect themselves from these potential mosquito bites with the use of bug spray and other preventative measures.
The problem: Some of these viruses brought about by a mosquito bite can cause serious diseases and even death in extreme cases. One dangerous virus in particular, West Nile, has no vaccine available.
Who has the problem: People living in Florida.
3. 17 arrested or ejected from UF game

Story description: At last week's football game, a handful of students were kicked out of the stadium for various reasons, including smoking, being intoxicated, and ticket-switching. 15 students were simply asked to leave while 2 were arrested.
The problem: These students were disruptive to the rest of the people in the stadium who were trying to enjoy the game. It's not a good look for the students nor the school.
Who has the problem: All people attending the football game.
4. Roaches at an Outback. Cake by the rodent poop. These restaurants are in trouble

Story description: Many restaurants in Florida have been shut down after having not passed inspections for cleanliness. Roaches, food debris on utensils, and rodent poop near the food are just a fews things that were found at these inspections.
The problem: This is a health hazard for anyone eating at these restaurants. People shouldn't have to worry about the cleanliness of the kitchen and thus the safety of their food when eating out.
Who has the problem: Anyone eating at these restaurants.

The problem: E-cigarettes are highly addictive and have negative health consequences. People need to be aware of the risks of vaping and take measures in order to quit.
Who has the problem: Anyone that vapes.

I really enjoyed reading your opportunity list. The first and the second one interest me the most because I have family members living less than minutes away from the school where the shooting happened. Whenever they told me about the shooting i couldn't believe it. If i knew about the rally, i would've been more than happy to attend the rally and spread awareness. I also find the second one very important because we need to be mindful about the possible diseases mosquitoes could spread. Overall, it was very interesting.

I especially enjoyed the vaping article because I can personally see the “epidemic” that is occurring with it, so I can see the opportunity you are talking about with my own eyes. Overall, I think you did a great job!
